How to find your mobile photography style ?

Todays post is about helping to find your type of mobile photography. It might seem very to do so, but by practicing and paying attention to the details, you’ll your answer.

What defines Mobile photography style ?

One of the best ways to discover your style is to look for patterns in your behavior. Your taste in food, travelling, socializing, and so on, make up who you are.

How to Find Your Unique Mobile Photography Style ?

The first part of every photographer’s journey is discovery. As a beginner, you might not know where to start. The best phone with the best performing camera, the tools, the editing apps, might confuse you.

Experiment the photography genres :

  • Portrait
  • Landscape
  • Macro
  • Underwater
  • Architecture
  • Sunset/ Sunrise
  • Street photography

Begin taking photos with your smartphone camera. Right now, your equipment doesn’t matter as much as your creativity.

This exercise will give you experience in many genres, which is very important in the long run. It will also start to provide you with a better idea of your photography style.

Make a collection, keep inspiring yourself and others

Start by making a collection and instead of saving photos to your computer, you can use different social media platforms to share your work and save it. Pinterest is excellent for creating inspiration boards. Instagram has a handy saving tool. Tumblr can let you create an entire inspiration blog.

Start with 20-50 inspiration photos. stands out the most for you ? Which of the photos you took, makes you happy, satisfied, push you to share your work and discuss the beauty of it with community?

Start with what you have

Instead of looking for the best equipment, start with what you have. This doesn’t mean that you should never invest in professional equipment. If you expose yourself to a lot of technical information now, you might not develop your style.

Get rid of technical and social media distractions. Use what you have. Take photos of everything that catches your eye.

Finally Enjoy what you do, make your mobile photography your escape from the daily routine and a way to express yourself and to appreciate the little things in life.
